Blood. Wherever it comes from, it can cause you huge damages all over your clothes, your furniture, and your…carpet! The last thing is indeed in a big danger when it comes to blood. But only if you don`t react properly. Otherwise, you can easily deal with the situation. Today, we are going to give you few important and helpful tips on this situation. So anytime you see blood on the carpet – regardless its source – you will know to do and you will not panic at all!
Basic rules for blood stains removal from a carpet.
Now, let`s start with few significant warnings if we can even call them like that. Those tips below are important to remember and applied when you see blood on the carpet. Here they are:

  • Once you see the blood, drop everything and deal with it. We mean immediately. Like most of the stains that you can make on the carpet, blood stains should be handled right away. But women might already know it – other cases we will not discuss. We are sure they know what we are talking about.
  • If the blood stain is extra fresh, done right now, then, ordinary water is totally enough to remove it. Attention: no hot and even warm water is allowed! The colder the water is, the better you will get rid of it!
  • Sometimes, the blood stains on carpet are fresh, but not that recent to be eliminated with water only. When you wash with cold water, you will need to continue treating the stain. Eye drops are fantastic for the case. If you don`t use such, ordinary baking soda or salt are enough.

Tips for old and dried blood stains on the carpet.
Unfortunately, you might already have blood stains on your carpet. They should be cleaned more thoroughly. But nothing is lost. You can still save your carpet. See how to eliminate old blood stains from a rug:

  • Use hydrogen peroxide. This hard, but not harmful to health at all ingredient is very beneficial to many stains. Including to blood stains on the carpet. Add a tablespoon on the stain and dab gently with a sponge. Rinse and dry properly.
  • If you don`t have hydrogen peroxide, you can try with a cleansing product everyone should have at home – baking soda. You need to prepare a paste from ammonia and water. Make sure the water is cold again. Stir and blot without pressing into the fibers. Most carpets are too delicate today and they absorb dirt quite fast.
  • In all cases, you can try with white vinegar as a finishing procedure. Apply from the vinegar and blot with a sponge. Use water and a clean cloth to rinse and sanitize in the end. Don`t worry – the smell of the vinegar disappears extremely fast and it will be gone for less than an hour. Besides, it will save your carpet from blood blurs 100%.
